MJ.

last week, rob surprised me with tickets to see cirque del soleil's michael jackson: the immortal experience!  rob and i had both always wanted to see michael, and this was certainly the next best thing.

it was exciting to take a break from studying and go on a date!  not to mention the fact that it involved MJ.  and crab fries.

we boogied in our seats all night.  it was impossible not to.

oh michael, we miss you!

coming home.

i love coming home.

even if it's only for a few hours (like it was on easter) because of class the next day.  kristy and i played with london, and it was sunny out and all the flowers were blooming. 

so many things that make me happy in one little place.  i am very thankful for that.

curb finds.

i love making treasures out of someone else's trash.  i found this little neglected nightstand on the curb a few months ago and was very excited to scoop him up.  even though it took me a while to get around and fix him (a new drawer was needed), he now sits very happily beside my bed.

ps. the life jacket hanging above was my grandfathers in WWII.  his ship got sunk after being torpedoed by a german submarine--the jacket saved his life while he floated in the mediterranean sea for 7 hours before he was rescued.

i love keeping it up as a humbling reminder that i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that jacket.  talk about hero!

a bridal shower for my big sister.

last weekend was my big sister's bridal shower.  it feels like just yesterday we were in the backyard playing our favorite "barbie pool party" (a creative embellishment of squirting barbies down our swing set slide with a garden hose.)  now she is 27, a successful pediatric dentist, a brilliant young woman, and an even more beautiful bride.

words cannot explain how happy i am for her and how happy i am that she found such love with chris.  

 

the best part was....we actually surprised her!
